Police raid fan clubs in western Athens

As part of ongoing effort to crack down on hooliganism in Greek sport, police late Thursday conducted raids on two fan clubs, both located in areas of western Athens.

On March 3, a very special event took place in the Psiloritis mountains on Crete: the southernmost ski mountaineering competition in Europe, called Pierra Creta. More than 200 skiers from across Europe had gathered in the mountain villages and met each other on the slopes.

Suspect in referee assault to present defense on Monday

A 28-year-old soccer player was given until Monday to prepare his defense against the charge he was involved in the assault and injury of international referee Thanassis Tzilos last December in the central Greek city of Larissa.
