Bill to be drafted for F1 track
The Greek government plans to build a Formula 1 track to boost tourism. Tourism Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos said yesterday that a bill would be drafted within the next few months to build the circuit after F1 officials had expressed «great interest» in a race in Greece. «This will allow us to make a fast move forward when the time comes,» Avramopoulos told reporters after meeting with Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis. The minister did not name potential grand prix sites. In March, Avramopoulos mentioned the Viotia area, some 60 kilometers (37 miles) north of Athens, as a possible location. (AP)
