Livaja shines at Livadia too
AEK remained ahead of challengers Olympiakos and PAOK at the Super League race with its successful trip to Livadia on Sunday, while Panionios conquered Panathinaikos’s castle.
Marko Livaja and Sergio Araujo scored in the second half to give AEK a 2-0 win at Levadiakos to take AEK to 27 points from 13 games.
Olympiakos is one point behind after coming from behind to beat Apollon Smyrnis 3-1 in Piraeus on Saturday. Apollon opened the score in the first half via Israeli striker Eli Elbaz, Olympiakos equalized soon after through Omar Elabdellaoui, but had to wait till the last 10 minutes for supersub Karim Ansarifard to get a brace that gave the Reds all three points.
There were no such worries for PAOK at Xanthi. The Thessaloniki club scored its first away win this season, and a 3-0 at that, thanks to goals from Robert Mak, Jose Crespo and an own goal by Pablo de Lucas. PAOK is on 25 points.
Panionios climbed to fifth with a surprise 1-0 triumph at Panathinaikos, via a Fiorin Durmishaj goal, to put an end to the Greens’ unbeaten home record after 413 days.
Asteras rose to sixth thrashing Kerkyra 4-0 in Tripoli, Lamia scored a late equalizer to get a 2-2 draw at gome from Panetolikos and PAS Giannina snatched a 1-1 result at Larissa.
On Monday Platanias greets Atromitos at Hania.
