Sports Digest: Panathinaikos deducted three points
SOCCER: The Super League disciplinary committee has given PAOK all three points from the abandoned game at Panathinaikos and deduct three points from the Greens’ tally in the play-off mini-league and two points from next season’s league table. Panathinaikos will also play two home games behind closed doors next season and pay a 41,000-euro fine. The Greens will challenge the verdict at an appeals committee.
TENNIS: Maria Sakkari bowed out of the French Open after losing 6-4, 6-2 to number 21 seed Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain on Tuesday.
BASKETBALL: Aris is close to hiring its former player Panayiotis Giannakis as its new coach, replacing Dimitris Priftis who is likely to become the new Greece coach. PAOK presented its new coach, Ilias Papatheodorou.
