Sports Digest: AEK stuns Panathinaikos

BASKETBALL: AEK beat Panathinaikos 71-70 on Sunday to level their Basket League best-of-five semifinal series 1-1, in the first loss of either Panathinaikos or Olympiakos to a third team in a domestic competition this season. In the other semifinal series Olympiakos has taken a 2-0 lead after beating host Aris 84-77 in Thessaloniki on Saturday.

WATER POLO: Olympiakos has come from 2-0 down to win the final series of the women’s league with 3-2 wins, as in the fifth game on Saturday in Piraeus it defeated challenger Vouliagmeni 13-8.

SWIMMING: Kristian Golomeev registered a new national record in 50 meters butterfly clocking 23.74 seconds at the Acropolis meeting in Athens on Sunday.
