Olympiakos is alone on top of Basket League
Olympiakos defeated AEK at home on Saturday and is now alone on top of the Basket League with eight wins in as many games.
The Reds won 78-67 to inflict AEK’s first league loss this season as its spectacular run came to an end. Led by Matt Lojeski (17 points), Olympiakos advanced by up to 21 points before AEK reduced the deficit in the end.
Panathinaikos is now joint second after thrashing bottom club Apollon Patras 96-59 in Athens on Monday, in a game where its coach Xavi Pascual offered some playing time to players who do not feature too much in the Euroleague.
PAOK struggled to beat visiting Rethymno 77-75 at home on Saturday, while Korivos needed the second overtime to see off Lavrio 89-86 at Amaliada.
Kolossos Rhodes is looking good for a play-off spot after downing Kymi 64-54 at home. Promitheas Patras continued its strong November with an 84-67 victory against visiting Trikala, and Aris had a solid showing at Lefkada to beat host Doxa 79-69.
