PAOK fans arrested for storming pitch released pending trial
Thirteen PAOK supporters who were arrested in Thessaloniki during a riot at a Greek Cup semi-final against Olympiakos on Wednesday, were released on Friday pending trial, which has been postponed until April 5.
Two minors who had also been arrested and released will stand trial at a juvenile court in May.
The soccer game was abandoned one minute before the final whistle after home supporters hurled flares and stormed the pitch when the referee refused a penalty appeal by PAOK. Olympiakos was leading 2-1.
The trial was postponed because of an ongoing strike by lawyers.
