Olympiakos three points away from clinching title
Olympiakos is one win away from clinching another Super League title mathematically, after trashing Atromitos while AEK dropped points at Iraklis on Saturday and the Panathinaikos vs PAOK match ended in a draw on Sunday.
The Reds recovered from their 1-0 defeats to AEK in the league and to Anderlecht in the Europa League to defeat Atromitos 4-0 on Sunday, thanks to goals by Chori Dominguez, Alan Pulido, Esteban Cambiasso and Costas Fortounis.
AEK drew 1-1 with Iraklis in Thessaloniki, as five minutes after taking a 74th-minute lead through the first goal by Czech striker Tomas Peckhart with the Athens club, Nikos Ziambaris equalized for the host. AEK is now 18 points behind Olympiakos with seven games left to play.
Panathinaikos remained four points behind AEK in third, as it surrendered a 2-0 lead over PAOK at home to draw 2-2. The Greens led via Marcus Berg and Nikos Kaltsas, but within 11 minutes PAOK scored twice through a spectacular right-foot volley by Goiko Cimirot and Dimitris Pelkas tap-in. Haris Harisis left PAOK with 10 men in injury time, but that did not change the outcome of a quite exciting game in Athens.
The fate of relegation-threatened Panthrakikos and Kalloni seems certain, as Kalloni went down 1-0 at Levadiakos and Panthrakikos lost the Thraki derby at Xanthi by the same score.
In other weekend games Asteras Tripolis drew 0-0 with PAS Giannina, and Platanias shared a 1-1 compromise with Panetolikos.
