Greece beats Montenegro 86-57 in Acropolis basketball tournament opener

Greece beat Montenegro 86-57 in Acropolis basketball tournament opening match on Tuesday, at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF).

Although Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play, the comfortable win indicated that Coach Vasilis Spanoulis’ team is on a very good path one week before attempting to qualify to the Paris Olympics at the pre-Olympic tournament.

The players were excellent on both sides of the court, with a dominant presence in offense (26 assists) and a solid defense that left no room for threat.

The lead consistently remained in double digits throughout the match, with the national team playing beautiful basketball with quick ball movement, excellent teamwork, good perimeter shooting, and control of the rebounds.
