British Council in Athens announces summer school program

The British Council presents its Technology and Performing Arts Summer School program, running at its Athens headquarters from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays from July 4 to 15, for boys and girls aged 14 to 18 years old.

Jointly organized by the British Council's departments of Technology and Performing Arts, the program is separated into two sections that, however, also overlap in a number of different activities, offering brain food during the school holidays for teens stuck in the capital.

In the technology section, participants will get to ponder questions relating to innovation and the development of ideas, while also getting hands-on experience with new technologies and game design, among other areas.

The performing arts program offers the opportunity to have a go at devised theater, physical theater, pantomime and other forms, exploring the theatrical potential of literary texts through group exercises, confidence- and team-building exercises as well as activities combining the performing arts with technology.

Other than workshops presented in English and Greek, the program also includes visits to sites of interest, such as museums, foundations, university labs and nearby field trips.

The participation fee is 490 euros for each department, while applications that are submitted by May 20 will receive a discount, paying 420 euros.
