Mitsotakis meets with Republican senators on Crete

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a working breakfast at his residence in Hania, on the island of Crete, with a group of Republican US senators, including Jerry Moran, Susan Collins, John Boozman, John Cornyn and John Hoeven.

Defense Minister Nikos Dendias and US Ambassador George Tsunis also attended, a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

According to the release, participants affirmed the exceptional level of US-Greek relations and defense cooperation, highlighting Greece’s role as a pillar of stability and security in the wider region.

Mitsotakis emphasized the initiatives undertaken by Greece, particularly its involvement in the development of the Vertical Corridor – a European gas pipeline planned to connect the gas systems of Greece, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine – and its contributions to Europe’s energy security.
