New Democracy maintains comfortable lead over opposition, poll shows

A poll released on Thursday showed the ruling New Democracy (ND) maintaining a comfortable lead over opposition parties, while PASOK remains stable in second place. 

According to the GPO survey for Star TV, New Democracy leads with 26.5%, while PASOK trails by 12.2 points at 14.3%. The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) ranks third with 8.3%, followed by the nationalist Greek Solution at 8.1%. SYRIZA is in fifth place with 7.6%. Nationalist Voice of Reason polls at 4.1%, while the populist, left-wing Course of Freedom stands at 3.6%, with the religious nationalist party Niki at 3.0%.

Regarding SYRIZA’s internal strife, 58.6% of SYRIZA voters think that former president Stefanos Kasselakis should be allowed to participate in the upcoming party leadership election. 

Furthermore, 60.4% of those asked, viewed favourably Androulakis’ reelection as PASOK president.
