A letter has been sent to the President of the European Parliament calling for the dismissal of SYRIZA MEP Nikos Pappas from the European People’s Party (EPP) group for his “continuous vulgar, racist, sexist and abusive” behavior.

“We are writing to express our deepest concern about the recent misconduct of MEP Nikos Pappas of The Left in the European Parliament,” the letter reads. “We urge The Left Group to take all necessary measures against the behavior of MEP Nikos Pappas, including his dismissal from the group.”

The letter was signed by EPP Group President Manfred Weber, Head of the Greek delegation in the EPP Group Elisavet Vozemberg-Vrionidi and EPP Group Chief Whip Jeroen Lenaers. It was addressed to the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
