No more adventures for Greece

The country is in dire need of a strong government. This is has been made imperative by the global credit crisis as well as by a number of issues that remain unsolved on a national level. Greece can no longer afford to be held hostage to the personal differences and petty ambitions of a handful of MPs. It would be most unfortunate for the country to be pushed once again into early elections and, following that, a period when no one is firmly at the state’s helm. The prime minister is the only person who can reverse the current political climate by making the painful, yet necessary, changes and embarking on bold initiatives. Greeks will accept reforms and sacrifices but only if the country gets rid of its political dead weight, meaning those who have failed in their duties and those who insist on provoking public opinion. The times ahead will be tough. This means that tough decisions will have to be made. But the country can no longer handle being left at sea, just as it cannot take the adventure of another election.
