VOTE FOR PLASTIRAS: The result of the vote in Parliament last night for a a vote of confidence in the government, submitted last Monday (March 15) by the head of the Greek Rally Party (Alexandros Papagos), was as expected. (…) There were 132 votes for the government and 114 against. The two members of the People’s Party (Messrs Tsaldaris and Hamdis) voted against the government, while the four independents voted for it. Absent from the governing party were (the ailing Prime Minister Nikolaos) Plastiras and Mr Hatzigakis. (…) SECURITY FORCE RETAINED: The Army General Staff has announced that following a unanimous decision by the Military Council, the National Security Brigades (TEA) are to be retained as necessary for the security of the countryside. It was emphasized that the TEAs are not a political organization but military units commanded by permanent and reserve officers.
