PAPAGOS TO EISENHOWER: New York – According to reports from Athens and Washington today, the Greek government under Nikolaos Plastiras will not be in power long. (…) One correspondent from Athens said that (Greek Rally leader) Field Marshal Papagos, in talks yesterday with (Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe) Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, emphasized that elections were the only way to resolve the political and economic impasse and that only the Greek Rally party was in a position to tackle the problem with any success.(…) Papagos received Eisenhower in the presence of Panayiotis Kanellopoulos. GREEK WOMEN: Belgrade – According to reports from Budapest, 30 Greek women workers, all with health problems and aged from 16-18, have arrived at a factory in Cetili. These unfortunate workers were transferred from a chemical factory in Romania where 82 Greek women were killed in an explosion last September. The agents of the Cominform had taken these women by force to Romania from Greece. COSTAS YIANNIDIS: The Piraeus Theater Company, under the artistic direction of Orestes Makris, is presenting D.K. Evangelidis’s musical «That’s Life» at the Piraeus Municipal Theater tonight. Tonight’s performance will be conducted by Costas Yiannidis.
