CONSTANTINE TSATSOS: The minister to the prime minister, Mr Constantine Tsatsos, gave a press conference yesterday at the offices of the Foreign Press Association in Athens. He explained what had been achieved over the past year and announced plans for this year in the sector of tourism development in Greece. The minister’s personal appearance was of significance in view of the completely unjustified rumors that had begun to circulate abroad to the effect that Greece was an «unsafe» country for foreign travelers. Mr Tsatsos asked the foreign correspondents for their personal opinions since they lived in and traveled around Greece and were in a better position than anyone else to know how hospitable Greeks were and the level of security prevailing from one end of the country to the other. PAPANDREOU AND ‘IDEA’: The leader of the Liberals, Mr George Papandreou, said in Parliament yesterday he believed the organization known as IDEA (Sacred Bond of Greek Officers) continued to exist despite the assurances otherwise of the defense minister (Aristides Protopapadakis).
