Security and tact

The plan to introduce security measures and a special force to guard the country’s university campuses and clamp down on crime has been designed with a keen awareness of the many sensitive issues involved.

That same sensitivity and tact needs to be applied in the effort to convince rectors and academics who are opposed to the plan of its merits, because the discussion on this matter cannot be allowed to come to a standstill and compromise the entire endeavor.

Protecting our universities from crime is a long-standing demand of the majority and the plan simply must move forward.
