Fostering violence

Hooliganism and violence have no place in a democracy. The violence that broke out in reaction to a court ruling has hurt the country’s credibility at a critical time and cost to many people.

The government has helped foster the incendiary climate with attacks by officials against the judiciary. It will take a significant share of the blame if the results of this tactic show their face in more ways than they already have.
