An emergency situation

Day after day Greece is sinking deeper into chaos while our partners find ministry sit-ins and a conscious effort not to come up with statistical data hard to believe.

While the PM is stubbornly trying to get over the 6th loan tranche hurdle, his government is exhausted, divided and to a large extent unwilling to deliver what is expected. Meanwhile, on its own, the leading opposition party is not a serious alternative. The country needs to be saved and governed, however. Not a single person can claim not to understand what a default would entail, especially in such out-of-control conditions.

George Papandreou and Antonis Samaras have shown they can work together. Now they need to agree on an emergency government, disregarding all other calculations and party pressures. History will be merciless with anyone who places their own interests above the country?s salvation.
