Municipalities and tourism

The municipal authorities of popular tourism destinations are well within their rights to demand that a significant share of the special levies on cruise passenger arrivals and tourist accommodations should flow into their coffers.

They are, after all, in the best position to know what their municipalities need and – one hopes – how to improve their infrastructure and protect their area’s reputation as a destination.
