Rearguard battle

The benefits of digitization are so obvious and now experienced by citizens that anyone who hinders it can only fight a rearguard battle in favor of their petty interests. All in vain. 

All that the backlash in favor of keeping the bureaucracy in place achieves is in inconveniencing the public, and exposing before everyone’s eyes the true motives of the guilds that are making people’s lives difficult.
