A mature transition
The image of the outgoing and the new mayor of Athens working harmoniously in City Hall in order to guarantee the smooth transition of power is a hopeful example of political maturity.
The newly elected mayor, Haris Doukas, has proposed corrections to projects that have already been launched – such as returning the main Vasilissis Olgas Avenue back to traffic – and has the mandate to test those corrections.
