The danger and the parks

The basic obligation of the state apparatus, especially during the summer season, is to ensure the adequacy and operation of all means of fire protection and safety.

It is only if it cannot fulfill this task that the decision to close all parks in Athens due to the risk of fire is justified, since they are the only places where residents can seek refuge from the heat.
