Stigma and sluggishness

When an acquittal from a prosecution that appeared from the beginning to be politically motivated takes eight years to be finalized, we should not expect many capable people to be willing to apply for a position in public office.

The fear of stigma will continue to prevent those who are best qualified from getting involved with the Greek state and the party system that hogs it every time.

This is also one of the serious side effects of the sluggish pace of justice.
