No alibi for extreme views

The claim to pluralism within parties should not serve as an alibi for views that are incompatible with the culture of healthy competition within a democracy. 

Political parties should not tolerate insulting language or bigoted threats from within their ranks. 

It is wrong to believe that marginalizing political extremists comes at a political cost. Giving them cover does.
