Finding the balance

The introduction of more controls in decisions relating to the surveillance of citizens as well as the restoration of the right of the person monitored to be informed of the reason behind the lifting of their privacy of communications are institutional steps in the right direction.

If anything positive can come out of the trauma of the wiretapping affair, it is for the country to regain the balance between security and citizens’ rights.
