A matter of honor
It is a matter of honor for the Greek state and justice system that the case of the deadly 2018 fire in the east Attica town of Mati is not dismissed. We have an obligation to the victims and to their relatives, who expect answers and demand that those who are to blame for the tragedy face up to their responsibilities.
We have already realized that some “invisible hand” is protecting the defendants, for some unknown reason. But a dismissal on the grounds that the trial has run on too long is completely outrageous.
Everything must be done to prevent this from happening.
