Educational populism

The worst consequence of populism when planning educational reforms is that it fosters false expectations, trapping young people in professional and educational impasses. 

That is what the previous government did, pretending to establish higher institutions overnight and promising corresponding professional rights – with no plan, no forethought. 

Now, to reform tertiary education, the government will need to make painful decisions.
