Disappointing decision

The main opposition party has acknowledged the strategic importance of the defense agreement with France, as well as the operational needs that it will meet.

However, SYRIZA has decided to vote against the deal, by finding excuses, although the decision was reportedly not unanimous.

This is a disappointing decision. No “clarifications” and – even more so – no political calculations can justify a division along political party lines on issues of national defense.
