Infuriating speculation

No one is pleased with the escalation of violence in the world of organized crime. This does not mean, however, that the problem lends itself to speculation of the most infuriating, rabble-rousing and populist kind. 

Those in the opposition who are trying to dramatize an already difficult situation to score political points are not doing themselves any favors, nor – of course – are they helping the state deal with these dangerous gangs.
