Wildfire in Marathon brought under partial control

A wildfire that broke out on Wednesday in Marathon, eastern Attica, has been partially contained by firefighting forces. 

According to the fire service, the fire started shortly after 3 p.m. and it was burning trash in a ravine, not threatening any houses.

Twenty-five firefighters with seven vehicles were dispatched to the scene. Two helicopters, volunteers and municipal water trucks were also assisting in the firefighting efforts.
