Video footage said to capture alleged arsonists’ movements

Investigators are examining video footage that captures the movements of a 61-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman who were arrested on Monday on suspicion of committing arson in the eastern Attica district of Nea Makri.

According to sources, the man, an orthopedic doctor, is captured on video moving his vehicle, which was parked outside his house, around the times that the fires in question broke out.

Police are also seeking the woman’s 16-year-old son in relation to the alleged arsons.

The man and woman were led before an investigating magistrate, who imposed an administrative fine of 2,320 euros on them.

The three are alleged to have set eight fires from May to August in their area.
