Fire from Albania prompts evacuation alert in Greek border village

A fire that spread from Albania prompted an evacuation alert for residents of Palampas village in Thesprotia, Epirus.

According to the fire service, the village is no longer under threat.

A total of 41 firefighters, along with 13 vehicles and a ground team, are battling the blaze. Six aircraft, military forces and volunteers are also assisting in the firefighting efforts.
