Firefighters battle blaze in Messinia

Firefighters are battling a forest fire that broke out in the southwest Peloponnese in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Fire Service said that the fire, in the Metamorfosi area in the municipality of Pylos Nestoros in Messinia, does not pose a danger to a nearby settlement.
A contingent of 55 firefighters, 19 vehicles, four aircraft and two helicopters are operating at the scene.
