Marriage can turn off sex drive, data show
Marriage can kill your sex drive, according to figures released yesterday by the Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health (KESAY) in Thessaloniki, which also found that Greek women are reluctant to talk about their sexual problems. The center has run a helpline since 1998 and according to the statistics, which were collected from some 3,500 calls made during its first five years of operation, married women are 40 percent more likely to complain about a lower sex drive than single women. KESAY staff said that it was worrying that only about a third of the women who called the helpline to discuss a concern about their sex life had been confident enough to raise the issue with their doctors as well. One in five women said they were too embarrassed to discuss the problem with their doctor.
