Fire in Athens suburb of Aghios Stefanos contained
A wildfire that broke out early on Monday in forestland in the Athens suburb of Aghios Stefanos was quickly contained by the fire service before it could wreak significant damage or cause any injuries.
The fire service dispatched 14 firefighters to the scene, along with seven engines.
The effort was bolstered by volunteer firefighters and water-carrying trucks provided by local authorities.
