Suspect arrested, charged over Lesvos shooting
A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting Wednesday that left two migrants, an Iranian and an Afghan, wounded in a rural area on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos near the Moria reception center, police said on Friday.
Police confiscated a hunting rifle, believed to be the weapon used by the suspect, along with several bullets.
The suspect, about whom no further information was available, is to face an investigating magistrate on Monday to respond to charges of attempted murder and weapons offenses.
According to local media, the two migrants had left the camp to go for a walk along with another two Iranian men who were unharmed.
They were hospitalized for treatment for their injuries, which were not life-threatening.
