Anarchist group causes damages to Athenian restaurant
Members of self-styled anarchist group Rouvikonas vandalized the entrance to a restaurant in Halandri, northern Athens, early on Friday morning to protest the alleged mistreatment of employees by the head chef.
According to police, a group of people threw paint on the facade of the building that houses Botrini’s, which is closed for the summer, and smashed a window before fleeing.
The group claimed responsibility for the incident in a post on an anti-establishment website, saying that the attack was an act of solidarity with a 19-year-old kitchen worker who claimed to have been bullied and physically assaulted by the head chef.
It was unclear whether they were referring to the restaurant’s owner, Ettore Botrini, who is a celebrity chef.
