Athens metro suspended between Acropolis and Syntagma due to suspect bag

Authorities suspended Athens metro services on the section between Acropolis and Syntagma stations on Tuesday due to a suitcase at the former station that was deemed to be suspicious.

Officers of the Greek Police's bomb disposal unit were dispatched to the scene.

Services were suspended shortly before 3 p.m.
