Fatal beating at Patra prison
A prisoner at the Aghios Stefanos penitentiary in the western port city of Patra was reportedly beaten to death on Saturday.
Prison authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances of the 44-year-old Roma man’s death and were waiting for the results of a coroner’s report.
According to initial reports, he was found dead in his cell with visible signs that he suffered a physical assault.
