ND chief underlines confidence in capability of Greek armed forces

Conservative opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday voiced his confidence in the ability of the country’s armed forces to safeguard Greece’s national security.

“At a time of heightened tension in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Greek armed forces are the absolute guarantee of national sovereignty and national independence,” the New Democracy leader said during a visit at a military facility in Larissa, central Greece.

“Greece will always respond to challenges with stability as well as full confidence,” he said.

Mitsotakis’ visit was part of a pre-election tour in Greece’s Thessaly region.
