Juncker criticizes Turkey over Imia incident

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Wednesday he was "strictly against the behavior of Turkey" after a Turkish coast guard patrol vessel rammed a Greek coast guard boat near Imia islets around midnight on Monday. 

On Tuesday, European Council President Donald Tusk called on Ankara to respect Cyprus’s territorial integrity after Turkish warships stopped a drillship belonging to Italian energy giant ENI from exploring for gas in Block 3 of the island’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
