Hit on drug dealer in Albania ordered from inside Greek prison
The order to assassinate Devis Kasmi, the 40-year-old Albanian drug dealer who was shot down in Tirana on January 29, is believed to have come from Albanian inmates at a Greek prison, sources told Kathimerini.
A 41-year-old disgraced Greek police officer was arrested over the killing in Tirana on Friday. He denies all charges. His lawyer is understood to have offered 10,000 euros in bail for his release, a request turned down by officials.
Another three Albanian nationals have been detained in connection with the case, while police are looking for a fourth suspect.
The key suspect, was ejected from the Greek Police’s special forces in 2011 after being linked to at least three cases of drug trafficking.
