Maternity clinics under the microscope after two women die
The head of the First Instance Court prosecutor’s office, Ilias Zagoraios, on Wednesday ordered an investigation into safety procedures at the country’s private maternity clinics after two women died following complications during labor.
One of the victims was the 34-year-old wife of a New Democracy official from Livadia.
The deaths prompted a series of complaints about allegedly lax safety at private clinics.
