Tanker runs aground off Psara in Aegean Sea
A tanker carrying an unknown quantity of oil products has run aground off the coast of Psara, an islet northwest of Chios in the eastern Aegean.
The Eko II is carrying a crew of 17 and was en route from Lesvos to Chios when it hit rocks or shallows off Psara.
Coast guard authorities are monitoring the situation in case of a leak, while a tugboat is on the way to help shift the tanker, the Athens-Macedonian news agency reported.
There have been no reports of injuries.
