Hooded vandals attack journalist’ union in Thessaloniki
Around 10 men with their features hidden by hooded jackets on Thursday ransacked the Thessaloniki offices of the Union of Newspaper Journalists of Macedonia and Thrace.
The assailants barged into the building at 5 Stratigou Kallari Street in the city center around noon and traveled up to the union’s offices on the second floor, where they smashed computers and furniture.
They also scattered flyers bearing insulting comments against the media and claimed, according to witnesses, that their “intervention” was meant to express support for prison inmates.
A similar attack occurred on Wednesday at the offices of Thessaloniki’s municipal radio and television station, where one worker was injured during a scuffle with the troublemakers.
