DIAS arrest armed robber in central Athens

Police said that members of the motorcycle-riding DIAS squad arrested an armed robber in Athens just moments after he held up a post office on Wednesday.

The man allegedly threatened employees at the post office in the Gyzi neighborhood on Wednesday morning. He grabbed money from a cash register and then ran off.

The DIAS squad caught up with him in nearby Ambelokipi.

Nobody was injured during the robbery.
