Measles warning issued
A measles epidemic that started in May is showing no sign of abating, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) has warned.
The center says that of the 524 cases recorded until last Thursday, 47 were in that week.
The majority of cases have been recorded in Attica and the Peloponnese, and mainly among Roma children who have not been vaccinated.
“We cannot rule out an escalation in cases or the epidemic spreading to other geographical areas,” KEELPNO said.
It added that some patients who came down with measles are health workers who had never been vaccinated or who had not had their booster shots.
