Tsipras lauds Greece and Cyprus as pillars of stability
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has hailed Greece and Cyprus as bastions of stability in a volatile region ahead of a tripartite meeting between the leaders of the two countries and Egypt's Abdel-Fattah Sissi on Tuesday.
“Greece and Cyprus are pillars of stability in an unstable region,” Tsipras said during his meeting with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades before meeting with Sissi in Nicosia.
The three men will discuss energy matters and defense cooperation among other issues.
Tsipras also thanked Anastasiades for Cyprus's support to Greece during last week’s deadly flash floods and blamed climate change for extreme weather conditions around the globe
